Ryoko Otanashi and Yasuke Matsada are the main characters of this story. Ryoko suffers from the constant loss of short term and long term memories. Yasuke is an ultimate neurologist. It's basically a prequel. I would say that this light novel is a mandatory read for hardcore fans. It gives more context to the story as a whole.
